📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Job Title: GIS Technician - Power Distribution Lines and EquipmentJob Description:We are seeking a skilled GIS Technician to join our team and contribute to the input, processing, and maintenance of Power Distribution Lines and Equipment assets within an ESRI GIS database. This position requires a keen attention to detail, proficiency in GIS software, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting power distribution operations.Qualification Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, a GIS Certificate or a minimum of 2 years of full-time GIS work experience is required.Power Distribution knowledge is a plus.Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software is required; experience with ESRI ArcGIS Pro software is a plus.Competency with standard computer software, including the Microsoft Office suite, is required.Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) is a plus.Ability to work effectively in a team environment is required.Flexible to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in an office environment. Shifts may be 8 or 10 hours per day, starting as early as 7 am and ending as late as 5 pm.Flexibility to work remotely (from home) is required. Remote work necessitates a stable broadband Internet connection of 20mb/s or capable of supporting remote desktop connections over VPN, and it is the responsibility of the worker.Following the approximately 3-month training period (duration may vary by individual), the position may transition to mostly remote work, with occasional on-site work, meetings, and training.No per diem is available for on-site training, meetings, and work. Candidates must live within commuting distance to the office.
