Maintenance Technician
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
- ****Continental shift, Shift rotates every 2 weeks*****
Main Objective of PositionTo repair/operate/maintain injection molding machines ensuring quality product and minimal scrap.
Tasks and ResponsibilitiesWorks safely in the injection molding department using all PPE necessary and adhering to all safety rules and regulations.Repairs molding equipment, including machines and peripheral specialty equipment, optimizing existing processes for uptime, cycle time and scrap reduction.Makes adjustments to production processes as necessary within given parameters, ensuring parts meet quality requirements.Effectively communicates with personnel on all levels in order to solve quality, production and maintenance issues.Analyze and solve production problems and define possible root cause/countermeasures.Communicate with supervisors regarding injection molding/tooling problems and makes suggestions for optimizing processes in injection molding (repair, maintenance, production, organization, procedures, etc.)Performs annual maintenance activities.Other duties assigned in order to ensure operations run efficient.
Key FiguresKnowledge and understanding of injection molding equipment and processes and peripheral equipment.Train to repair all molding equipment.
Required EducationHigh School diploma or equivalent. Scientific maintenance training.
Professional Experience (Years/ Experience)A minimum of 5+ years of experience in injection molding equipment maintenance, tooling, ideally 3 of those supporting an automotive production facility .
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and RequirementsAbility to effectively troubleshoot molding equipment & processes.Knowledge of injection mold machines & peripheral equipment (i.e.: hot runner, thermolator, handlings, cooling and others).Understanding and ability to utilize sequential valve gate control of valve gated systems.Understands basic automation and programming of robots along with end of arm tooling.Able to interface with injection machine control HMI.Basic computer and math skills or better.Good written and verbal communication skills.Excellent attendance and the ability to work a flexible schedule are essential.Ability to meet physical demands of the position, which may include: climbing stairs/ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, standing, and lifting. Ability to safely work with various chemicals.Ability to safely work with various chemicals and heavy machinery.Physically capable of lifting, pulling, pushing up to 50 pounds without injury.Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
