SENIOR ACCOUNTANT(REMOTE)
Summary of Role: Serena & Lily is searching for a Senior Accountant for our fast-growing multi-channel retail business headquartered in Sausalito, CA . This role is part of the accounting / finance team and is responsible for the financial records for the company. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of prior accounting experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:The senior accountant position is responsible for working as part of the Accounting/Finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial records for the companyPerform month-end closing accounting tasks including preparation of journal entries and informative account analyses, including reconciliations with supporting schedules to substantiate ledger balances and estimates usedResearch and explain monthly operational account variances for areas of responsibility and operating expense analyticsCollaborate with cross functional teams to provide business solutions and more comprehensive processes of financial records, making use of current technologiesLead and manage our sales tax function, including sales tax set up and sales tax filings in various states, utilizing Avalara for certain sales tax filingsPerform monthly sales tax reconciliations, ensuring payments to states are up to date.Assist with Sales Tax audits, other external tax and financial audits, as needed.Assist with other state compliance such as annual filings, property tax filings and business license renewalsAssist with various projects as neededQualifications:Bachelors degree in accounting/financePreferably CPA license / CPA trackPreferably a strong understanding of US sales and use tax Minimum 2 years work experience in accountingProficient in excelAdaptability to work with various information systems and platforms (prefer experience with Netsuite)Strong analytical skills, organizational and follow-through skillsAbility to work in team environment, working together to accomplish team goalsAbility to work independently and perform multiple tasks to meet deadlinesStrong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements in a timely mannerStrong understanding of US auditing and accounting standards, practices, and procedures Ability to work with company sensitive information and maintain confidentialityExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCompensation:$110-115k per year is the anticipated starting base pay for this role. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills. (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance should they choose to participate in Serena & Lilyβs benefits. Employees can enroll in our companyβs 401k plan. During the first year of employment, full-time employees accrue twenty days of PTO and seven paid holidays throughout the year.
