📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Sessions, Israel & Shartle, LLC is a medium sized firm, with “large firm” representation responsibilities. We have 10 offices and 33 attorneys that serve clients nationally.We need experienced consumer defense or litigation attorneys.
Who we are:Maintaining the largest consumer defense practice in the country, we offer our debt collector, debt buyer, and financial institution clients not just litigation defense, but compliance, licensing and regulatory representation.Our largest practice areas include: consumer law; employment; commercial litigation; corporate and business transactions; and bankruptcy.
What our consumer defense attorneys do:1. Defend consumer law cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States, with a special focus on handling class actions2. Responsible for all stages of litigation, from analyzing case law and facts, completing discovery (including depositions), handling hearings and trials- all to full resolution3. Work with senior attorneys and partners to develop action plans and strategies4. Engage directly with clients and opposing counsel5. Coordinate with local counsel6. Manage cases with insurance risk managers
Skills and qualifications needed:1. JD Degree from an ABA-approved law school2. One of the following: top 1/3 of law school class, law review, and/or moot court3. Consumer defense experience is preferred, but not required; insurance coverage experience helpful4. Licensure in more than one state and federal court admissions helpful5. Technologically savvy and have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products6. Comfortable in a paperless environment7. Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload8. Ability to analyze cases and develop strategy9. Independent and highly motivated10. Excellent research, writing and communications abilities What we offer:Competitive salary and bonus potential2.
