Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer
Job Location: Oakland CA (Hybrid) Local Candidates Only
Job Type: Contract Job Description
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Proven experience 4-5 working in a cybersecurity role, preferably in a transportation or critical infrastructure environment. Generalist Security, IoT/OT, Security, NIST, CISA background. Extensive experience with Firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Office 365 Security, VSX, and Endpoint Security. In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, technologies, and standards.Hands-on experience with security tools, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and vulnerability assessment tools.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.Experience with network and system administration, including Linux and Windows environments, is desirable.Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances as required by Client.
