3rd shift rotor horizontal machinist sets up and operates the CNC (Complex Numeric Control) horizontal boring and slotter machines in order to perform various operations on a variety of parts and components
How You’ll Make An Impact
Set up and operate the CNC (Complex Numeric Control) horizontal boring and slotter machines in order to perform various operations on a variety of parts and components.Set up and operates one or more of the following machines: Ingersoll CNC Floor Type Horizontal Boring Mill, Giddings & Lewis CNC Floor Type Horizontal Boring Mill, Giddings & Lewis CNC Travelling Column Horizontal Boring Mill, Ingersoll CNC Horizontal Slotting Machine, Mazak CNC 5-axis machining center including setup cell and pallet tech, as well as various manual drills and Bridgeport mills. Position is also responsible for mentoring of employees in the Siemens Apprentice Program. Work in other areas of the campus on other products as needed.
What You Bring
Must have high school diploma or equivalentNeed to have 1-3 years of industrial-mechanical experience using CNC controls.Require a basic knowledge of machine shop operations, together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of precision measuring instruments and/or the training generally applicable in this particular or specialized occupationAbility to obtain fork truck and crane license. Prefer to have previous experience.Must pass math competency / balancer exam.Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
