Role Overview:As a Senior Data Scientist at our company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our fraud detection and prevention strategies as we expand into the US market. Leveraging your expertise in data science and machine learning, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement advanced analytics solutions to combat payments fraud effectively.
Responsibilities:Lead the development and implementation of advanced machine learning algorithms for payments fraud detection and prevention.Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies indicative of fraudulent activities.Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fraud detection models into our payment systems seamlessly.Conduct thorough evaluations of existing fraud prevention techniques and recommend improvements to enhance efficacy.Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in payments fraud detection to continuously improve our fraud prevention strategies.Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical guidance on complex data science projects.Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications:Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data science role, with a focus on payments fraud detection and prevention.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala, and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy).Strong understanding of machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Prior experience working in the financial technology industry is a plus.
