Role Overview
As the Vice President of Data, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data organization as they expand into the US market. Leveraging your expertise in data management, analytics, and machine learning, you will build and lead a team of analysts, data engineers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers. Reporting directly to c-suite, you will have the autonomy to establish a robust data infrastructure and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:Lead the development and implementation of advanced machine learning algorithms for payments fraud detection and prevention.Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies indicative of fraudulent activities.Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fraud detection models into our payment systems seamlessly.Conduct thorough evaluations of existing fraud prevention techniques and recommend improvements to enhance efficacy.Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in payments fraud detection to continuously improve our fraud prevention strategies.Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical guidance on complex data science projects.Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications:Strong experience in building and scaling rapidly growing data orgs within a tech start-up.Strong understanding of machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Prior experience working in the FinTech space is a plus.
