Nurse Manager - Ambulatory Surgery Unit

Essential Responsibilities:Manage the operations of 24-hour departments across multiple locations, ensuring highest quality of care and compliance with regulations.Establish, implement, and maintain patient care and service standards to meet expectations of members and internal clients.Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care outcomes.Develop and monitor budgets, identify strategies to reduce costs, and improve quality of care/services.Determine appropriate staff mix, oversee hiring, training, and competency maintenance of department staff.Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures supporting organizational goals.Oversee standards of care and practice, fiscal management, and quality improvement activities.Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:Experience: Minimum four (4) years of clinical nursing experience in ambulatory surgery, including four (4) years of management, supervisory, or leadership experience.Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in Nursing earned through a direct entry MSN program.License/Certification/Registration: Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire. Basic Life Support certification.Additional Requirements:Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other regulations.Strong interpersonal communication skills.ACLS or PALS certification may be required.National Certification preferred within 1 year of hire.Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.Preferred Qualifications:Two (2) years of management experience preferred.One (1) year of Magnet/shared governance experience preferred.One (1) year of managing in a bargaining environment preferred.Master's degree preferred.Non-Negotiable Requirements:1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).2. Experience in Operating Room nursing.3. Charge Nurse or Assistant Nurse Manager experience.Nice-to-Have Skills:Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).Experience managing a unionized environment.
