Since 1989, SLI has been addressing the specific needs of Black women living with HIV and other disproportionately impacted communities through direct services, research, and advocacy. SLI utilizes an intersectional approach to human rights and Reproductive Justice to provide testing, counseling, sexuality education, community support, policy and advocacy, and research programs.

Position

The Program Manager is responsible for delivering service for the Healthy Love Experience. Areas of oversight include: Healthy Education and Prevention Program: SisterLove’s sexual health education, advocacy, and prevention activities, including HIV, Hepatitis C, Pregnancy, STI testing, prevention counseling and linkage to care and community resources, and PrEP/PEP Navigation.Healthy Love Bus: The Healthy Love Bus is our mobile unit that provides comprehensive Healthy Love Experience services on wheels - delivering HIV/STI/Hepatitis C testing, sexual and reproductive health education, prevention, advocacy, and linkage to care and resources to underserved communities. In 2024, SisterLove plans to expand HLB services to include sexual and reproductive healthcare on the bus and will hire a Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical care.Healthy Love Party: Healthy Love Party (HLP) Workshops are SisterLove’s signature sexual health and prevention education intervention. HLP workshops are practical, evidence-based interventions created, implemented, and evaluated in partnership with the CDC. The workshops are one-time group-level interventions incorporating information, empowerment, skills-building, and risk assessment for women, girls, and other populations at substantial risk for HIV and STIs. Trainer and curricular development for projects that work at the intersections of HIV and Intimate Partner/Domestic Violence.

Duties & Responsibilities

Staff Management

Manage the Healthy Love Experience departmentSupervise, manage, and motivate all HLE program staff, including community health workers (prevention specialist and peer navigation specialty areas), nurses, billing coordinators, medical assistants, intake coordinators, interns, and volunteers.Organize and coordinate the provision of services through HLB Clinicians.Conduct timesheet management, time off coordination, and payroll functions for the HLE departmentCreate and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Ensure all HLE staff comply with established policies, procedures, and protocols while carrying out duties.Manage and monitor HLE supplies and inventory.Work closely with SLI’s operating department regarding HLE operations to ensure they align with the organization’s standards.

Testing & Programmatic Activities

Manage testing operations of the HLE activities, including all Insti HIV Testing, Pregnancy, and STI testing to ensure that appropriate lab forms are completed that clients who test positive develop a follow-up plan, are given linkage-to-care, and are scheduled for a return appointment in 3 months, and partner testing and prevention counseling.Manage oversight, training, and usage of AdvancedMD Electronic Health Record System, HealthHIV, future LabCorp integration, and support preparing the system for clinical record keeping and billing.Manage the STI collection and result reporting processes using DPH’s statewide database, APOLLO,Aggregate daily statistics to generate monthly reports on testing, community outreach activities, linkages to care and community resources, and test results.Monthly reports should include detailed analyses of trends, opportunities, and insights to track progress toward outreach goals and objectives.Conduct regular audits of client testing to structure process improvement and ensure compliance.Oversee the maintenance of the SLI safer sex supplies distribution log and inventory.Manage the dissemination of HIV, STI, Breast Cancer, etc. education materials, including support and pre-and post-testing counseling in accordance with SisterLove and CDC protocols.Provide oversight in collecting, compiling, and organizing all data collected from testing participants on time.Ensure that program participants are given a warm referral for HIV confirmatory testing, STI tests we cannot perform, treatment clinics and other services, and educational intervention programs as appropriate; assist staff with referrals as needed.Manage the scheduling of all staff and the SLI Clinic coverage and support groups and provide testing and counseling support when needed.Work cooperatively and respectfully with clients and staff and is sensitive to special needs and issues of the population addressed.

Clinical Management

Know about the Healthy Love Bus (HLB) activities.Manage oversight, training, and usage of AdvancedMD Electronic Health Record System and support preparing the system for clinical record keeping and billing.Provide oversight to ensure quality standards for testing and counseling are maintained through the completion of appropriate documentation and comply with all CQI/CLIA/HIPAA standards.Generate reports for the Senior Management/Executive Team as needed.

Community Engagement

Coordinate SLI testing and counseling services at a minimum of 4 community events per month.Attend all organizational, department, and/or project meetings, workshops, and/or trainings as required.Cultivate and Maintain relationships with community partners.Coordinate the HIV Home Self-Testing ProgramConduct monthly (result-driven) written reports and other administrative reporting functions, including demographic and statistical reports.Plan and manage SLI health education and testing events in the field.Serve as proctor and supervisor for all undergraduate and graduate interns.

Qualifications

Required

Master’s degree in public health, related field, or equivalent work experience.Bachelor’s degree in public health, human services, human sexuality, nursing, or related field.Five (5) years of experience in a health care setting (preferably a sexual and reproductive health setting).A passion for Sexual Health and Reproductive Justice!Three (3) years supervising entry-level staff (health educators, prevention specialists, peer specialists, etc.)Three or more years of previous work experience with SisterLove’s target populations.Two years of experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students as a proctor.Awareness of local resources available for HIV/STI/Pregnancy prevention, treatment, and care.Three (3) years experience in data collection, report writing, and managing budgets.Reliable transportation.Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.

Preferred

Nursing or Medical backgroundLive within 15 miles of SisterLove’s officesCPR certificationExperience in phlebotomy and/or conducting basic lab proceduresExperience in medical billing and medical compliance protocolsHIPAA CertificationThe ability to drive the Healthy Love Bus is a plus!
