SLR International Corporation has an immediate opportunity for a Project-level Scientist or Engineer to join our growing operations in Walnut Creek or Irvine, California. Qualified candidates will have at minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related scientific field, and possess at least 1-4 years of previous experience in the areas of air quality and compliance consulting. This position will offer support to new and existing air quality and compliance projects in the California market, as well as the other US regions as needed. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization.

Job Description

Required Technical Skills and Experience

Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related scientific field1 to 4 years of relevant air quality and/or compliance consulting experienceMaster’s degree or PhD in Chemical or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science is preferredExperience working with elements of Title V and/or PSD permitting, minor source permitting, BACT analyses, MACT standards, compliance reporting, and compliance auditingExcellent technical writing skills, and experience writing comprehensive technical reportsEffective time management of multiple project tasksExcellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skillsProficient with Microsoft Office suite softwarePossess a valid driver's licenseAbility to travel by airplane and car, including occasional overnight travelAbility to visit industrial and manufacturing facilities

Develop and complete accurate air quality permits for Title V, PSD, and New Source Review compliance under the supervision of a Principal or Senior Project ManagerDevelop air emission calculations and conduct regulatory reviews under the supervision of a Principal or Senior Project ManagerDevelop Greenhouse Gas emissions inventoriesConduct air dispersion modeling and Health Risk AssessmentsContribute to company Sustainability services (GHG reduction plans, energy auditing, low carbon energy solutions, etc.)Interact with local regulators to steward permit application review and issuanceLearn and implement compliance reporting software toolsProvide technical understanding related to projects (i.e., regulatory framework/requirements, sound engineering approach, investigation methods, etc.)Assist clients with regulatory intelligence and analysisSolicit work from SLR project managersConduct short-duration travel to attend client and project meetings

Compensation Range

The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $55,000.00 to $90,000.00. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.

This position is expected to close on 6/18/2024 and may be extended if need. If the posting is extended, a new deadline will be posted.
