Position Overview
As the Chief Credit Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the credit strategy. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust credit risk management framework, ensuring the company's credit policies align with regulatory standards and business objectives. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of credit risk, regulatory compliance, and a proven track record of building successful credit programs for non-prime credit card portfolio.
Credit & Fraud Risk Management
Develop and implement a comprehensive credit risk and fraud management framework, ensuring it aligns with the company's overall strategy.Establish and monitor credit policies, procedures, and guidelines to manage risk effectively.Conduct regular assessments of portfolios, identifying potential risks and opportunities for optimization.
Credit Policy Development
Formulate and refine credit policies in line with industry best practices, regulatory requirements and internal financial targets.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure credit policies are seamlessly integrated into the company's products and services.
Underwriting and Decisioning
Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of the decisioning platform to ensure accurate implementation of credit underwriting/account management/fraud policies, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with established corporate policies.Partner with analytics team to build and monitor advanced credit scoring models.
Regulatory Compliance
Stay abreast of relevant regulations and industry trends, ensuring the company's credit operations comply with legal requirements.Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders.
Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting
Develop and implement strategies for ongoing monitoring of credit portfolios.Generate and present comprehensive credit risk reports to executive leadership and relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of experience in credit risk management within the financial industry.Masters in statistics, mathematics, engineering, business, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.Working knowledge of using and assessing predictive models and advance analytics techniques to inform risk strategies.Deep knowledge of unit economics and the ability to interpret and analyze financial statements related to a credit card program.This role requires demonstrated experience as a proven leader in a startup environment, showcasing the ability to inspire, motivate and lead team members directly/indirectly in a high growth environment.Proven track record of developing and implementing successful credit programs for non-prime credit card program.In-depth knowledge of credit scoring models, analytics, underwriting, account management and fraud processes.Strong understanding of regulatory compliance within the financial sector.Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
