Electrical Engineer

Softworld is searching for an experienced Electrical Engineer with an electronics design, circuit board, circuit design, CCAs, embedded microcontroller, CAN, Ethernet, microprocessor, and hardware background. FPGA experience would be a plus (XILINX), communication protocols, and MIL STDs. 90% Onsite in Sterling Heights, MI12 month contract Electrical H/W Engineer – Computing and Interface ProductsDesign and Develop Electrical Components and Subsystems for Processing and Interface ProductsConcept to production delivery support including design, debug, test, and qualification.Support system architecture analysis, trade studies, and participate in associated engineering reviewsReview and develop H/W and S/W requirement documents and test plansSupport circuit design, component selection, procurement, and prototype hardware debug and buildsDevelop Engineering Design Fixes, and Coordinate SolutionsStrong record keeping skills with commitment to tracking design changes, debug status, H/W and S/W revisions. Minimum Qualifications / What you must have Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineer or Computer Engineering.Minimum of 2 years’ applicable experience required. Would look at senior candidates as wellAbility to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.Strong multi-tasking skills.The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge in many, but not all, of the following areas desired: Digital and Analog design including power and thermal analysis.Schematic development, component selection, circuit simulation, and PCB layoutMicroprocessor based products and Single Board Form Factors: Intel, AMD, ARM, VPX, VME, COM Express.Embedded Microcontroller H/W and programming skills (C, C++, Visual Studio)Industry standard interfaces and products (PCle, DDRxx, USB, SATA, RS422/485, MIL-1553, Ethernet, CAN, RS422/485, Solid State Drives)Graphics/video interfaces (HDMI, DisplayPort, HD-SDI, RS-170, LVDS)FPGA Design and Simulation (Xilinx Toolsets)EMI/EMC, High Speed Signal Integrity design practicesMilitary design and test requirements including MIL-1275, MIL-461, MIL-464, MIL-810Six Sigma design tools including DFMEA and Reliability Analysis
