Role Overview:The Staff Accountant is responsible to maintain accurate accounting records, publish financial statements applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and by utilizing appropriate accounting controls, and executing best practices in accounting operating and accounting systems procedures.
Key Responsibilities:Reconcile income statements to legal entity basis financial statements to comply with bank loan covenantsReconcile intercompany sales and COGS for legal entity reporting and correct errors, if anyGenerate eliminating entries for the purpose of publishing consolidated financial statements for Solaris Paper Inc.Reconcile operating expense GL details to SAP financial statementsReconcile plant production reports to SAP trial balance and report discrepancies to cost accountantsPerform loan covenant calculations for Solaris and Mercury on a quarterly basisPublish monthly, quarterly and annual state apportionment reports for Sales & Use Tax and Income Tax filing for Solaris, American Tissue, and MercuryPublish monthly reports to HQ such as working capital report and inventory and fixed assets reportsReview and maintain loan accounts transactions and reconcile interest expense and loan fees paid to bank versus agreed termsCoordinate audits with CPA external auditors and help manage semi-annual audits with bank auditorsGenerate the Intercompany Invoice List Generate the Weekly Sales Report Review PO settlementsGenerate Payroll Accrual Generate Broker Commission Statements Enter Dispenser Amortization Enter Sales Rebate Accrual Post relevant Cash DiscountsPost End User Rebates Prepare Sale Returns by region for Net Sales Assist in executing new accounting standards in legal entity reporting such as revenue recognition and lease accounting standardsPerform ad hoc accounting tasksIdentify gaps in accounting operations and financial reporting procedures and execute continuous improvement projects with other colleagues in accounting and other departments
Key Requirements:Undergraduate degree in accounting with 2 years of relevant experienceAdvanced Excel skills with complete familiarity with pivot tables and lookup functions.Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, especially SAP preferred.A quick learner with great attention to details, diligent, and well organized.Excellent verbal & written communication skillsAble to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
The anticipated annual salary is $66,560-$75,000. This range denotes only the pay range of the base salary and does not include discretionary bonus compensation, which may make up an important portion of the total remuneration. The listed range reflects the base salary Solaris Paper reasonably expects to pay for this position and is not a reflection of the highest and lowest base salary of any Solaris employee. Actual base salary will be based on factors such as the candidate's prior relevant experience, education, skills and knowledge.
