Accountant

This fast-growing food tech startup is seeking our first Accountant to lead our US Operations. As the first financial team member for this global department, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive our financial processes. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor as our company expands.

This is a full-time position on-site (3-5 days/week) out of our Northvale, NJ office.

Responsibilities:Oversee a variety of ongoing accounting duties, including customer invoices, recording vendors invoices, accounts reconciliation, fixed assets, intercompany transactions.Leverage and oversee our Netsuite ERP system.Track bank account balances, payments, bank reconciliation, and forecast cash flow.Process payroll and expense reimbursements.Oversee our Tax portfolio - sales, federal, state.Support month/quarter/year end closing.Close work and communication with our corporate finance.Ad hoc accounting projects as needed.

Requirements:Bachelor’s degree required; major in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.3+ years of accounting experience, with experience in all aspects of bookkeeping, including A/P, A/R, journal entries, payroll, internal audits, external audits, and tax reporting.Experience working with the NetSuite ERP system, proficiency with Excel.Exceptional attention to detail - you thrive on being thorough, accurate, and precise.Proactive, pragmatic, and resourceful problem solver.A self-starter with an ability to work in a collaborative and efficient way in a startup environment.High level of adaptability.Great communication skills and ability to work in close collaboration with team members.Curiosity to learn new things and desire to deeply understand all aspects of your finance and accounting work.
