HR Compliance Officer
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our client, a large organization with recently revised remote guidelines, is looking for a Contract HR Compliance Officer who will be tasked with ensuring the organization's employment policies align with the needs of a dispersed workforce. Alongside a deep knowledge of labor law, this position demands effective communication skills for seamless collaboration with HR, tax, payroll, and legal departments. This position will be hybrid and based in the New York office.
Responsibilities
Perform a meticulous assessment of the organization’s current HR, tax, and payroll policies to identify priority areas. Ensure the organization’s adherence to relevant laws and regulations, encompassing wage and hour regulations, employee benefits, employment contracts, workplace guidelines, leave policies, and disability accommodations across all operational states. Provide written suggestions to enhance processes and policies, aiming to reduce risks associated with employment law compliance. Collaborate with different business units to establish procedures that meet regulatory requirements. Aid in the creation and updating of various employment-related policies and documents. Design monitoring procedures to keep track of future legislative changes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a solid grasp of state and local labor regulations. Critical thinking abilities are essential.Strong attention to detail and detail orientation.Capability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks efficiently.Strong follow-through, a self-starter and flexible mindset.Preferred Qualifications of Juris Doctor (JD) degree along with Admission to the New York State Bar.
