Sr. Software Engineer
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join a top entertainment company in Orlando, FL. This position will run for 6 months with the potential to extend and will be based in their Orlando office 2-4 days per week.
Responsibilities
Provide Level 3 support by investigating data flow issues between applications using SQL Server and reading through legacy Classic ASP code.Triage production support issues and develop software fixes with a short turnaround time. This may require in-depth troubleshooting and reverse engineering of existing code.Participate in daily scrum meetings to collaborate with team members.Develop feature enhancements to meet new business requirements.Prepare code merge requests and database changes for deployment.Perform regular code reviews.Create and maintain technical documentation.Perform unit testing and write test scripts for QA.Recommend improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team.Encourage innovation.Help design critical software components, systems, and features.Manage deliverables and deadlines in an agile setting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's DegreeExcellent knowledge of MS SQL5+ years of software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languagesExperience being technical lead of a team or projectExperience with code versioning in a continuous integration/deployment settingWorking proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written EnglishSignificant knowledge/experience in relevant technologies, such as:CS FundamentalsObject oriented programmingDevelopment toolsJavaScriptHTML/CSSClassic ASP/VBScriptJSONIISMS SQLDatabase designREST APIs
