The LED Repair Technician performs electro/mechanical assembly, failure analysis, and development of repair processes. They excel in advanced diagnostic techniques and component level repair. This role services and supports our service department, ensures quality control on sold equipment, reviewing and confirmation of equipment/materials, estimating resource requirements for equipment repair, and all other implementation activities for our audio-visual projects or with the post-sales service and support.

Your day will look like this

Repair and maintain Solotech Live Productions and S&SI customer inventory including, but not limited to, Video and LED entertainment equipment. Perform complex Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) functional test debug using schematics and engineering documentation, with specific expertise in LED circuitry and Networking PCBA. Interconnect and package electronic circuits (IPC) certified in solder rework and repair, utilizing advanced soldering techniques to remove and replace SMT, through-hole, and circuitry. Conduct complex repetitive testing, troubleshooting, and prototype duties. Perform troubleshooting down to the component level of analog and digital circuits and piece parts for mechanical assemblies. Utilize industry-standard production testing equipment to diagnose, rework, and refurbish equipment, including the skilled use of Oscilloscopes and Multi Meters for defect diagnosis and required repairs. Visually inspect products for damage, date, serialization, or other identifiersAssist other technicians with setups, testing, and instruction as needed. Collaborate with other technicians, manufacturers, and engineers to resolve problems. Achieve daily/weekly processes and procedures as outlined. Repair damaged LED video tiles, test, and troubleshoot LED video parts and components, including hand soldering pixels on LED tiles. Generate reports detailing service work performed and comply with processes to maintain an accurate physical spare parts inventory onsite. Maintain preventative maintenance and repair procedures, working within Salesforce, D365, and R2 inventory software. Collaborate with managers to forecast project needs, interfacing with Live Production and S&SI Project Managers, and ensuring prompt repair deliveries. Manage technical resources including parts and materials necessary for repair, inspection, preparation, and maintenance of equipment. Coordinate with the Parts and Billing team to ensure prompt execution of RMA shipment and returns management. All other duties as assigned by the LP Service Manager

Your profile

Specific experience in advanced LED Circuitry, Digital & Analogue, electronics, and Networking PCBA or 2 years of repair experience within the AV / LED industry. Minimum 3 years of experience in fine electronics troubleshooting, soldering, and repair. Demonstrated experience in soldering/repair on PCB boards, computer electronics, and microchips. Ability to perform detailed work under pressure. Proficiency in hot-air de-soldering techniques. Excellent technical analytical skills. High technical literacy re: detailed schematics and engineering documentation for professional-grade equipment. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams. Possession of a valid passport and ability to travel as needed. Strong teamwork orientation. Ability to self-manage priorities, respect timelines, and meet critical deadlines. Ability to self-manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work outdoors. Software Platforms: Familiarity with Salesforce, R2, and D365 is helpful. Office Software: Proficiency with Office 365 applications including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Lighting Systems: Knowledge of lighting control systems such as DMX, Light Jockey, ETC, Grand MAAutomation Systems: Familiarity with automation systems such as Crestron and AMX a plusVideo Conferencing Systems: Understanding of video conferencing systems including Polycom and Cisco a plus. Digital Audio Processing: Understanding of digital audio processing technologies including Q-SYS, Soundweb, and Biamp a plus.

This position may involve repairing LED products exclusively, which may not be suitable for all technicians. Candidates should be prepared for this specialized focus. Work Requirements

Time will be spent in a warehouse setting. Flexible work hours to support operations. The environment may be fast paced, hot, cold, and dark.

Physical work environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee continually works in a warehouse setting. This job may involve occasional exposure to disagreeable elements such as dust, noise, heat, cold, etc. Accidents are improbable other than minor injuries. Environment may be fast paced at times.
