Staff Accountant

ABOUT OUR BRAND:Southern Proper Hospitality Group is a growing multi-concept hospitality company that is seeking to hire a passionate and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at our location in 2030 Powers Ferry Road in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will have two-to-four years of experience in a multi-company accounting processing environment, with a strong background in payroll processing and full cycle accounts payable. BASIC JOB FUNCTION:The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller. They will be tasked to maintain and control the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. RESPONSIBILITIES:To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed to accommodate the smooth flow of operations and accounting within the company:Maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close.Prepare documentation for external auditors.Build strong cross functional partnerships to resolve accounting issues.Partner in the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines and streamline workflow.Provide accounting support by reviewing financial information, converting data to general ledger system, and obtaining supplementary information for preparing financial statements.Assist Management in the budgeting process and compile accurate and timely reporting to meet our budgeting deadlines.Review current processes and help streamline inefficiencies which could include implementing new technology based on company’s needs.Collaborate on other projects or duties as needed. REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:Two-to Four years’ experience in a multi-company accounting processing environment.Payroll Processing is required.Full cycle Accounts Payable is required.Working knowledge of EPR accounting systems.Comprehension of balance sheet and bank reconciliationsWorking Knowledge of monthly sales tax filings.If you are a highly motivated individual with a strong attention to detail and a passion for accounting, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity!
