ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a sewing/fiber blowing manufacturing production facility.Manage production and develop plans that help improve operations.Supervise and coordinate activities of employees engaged in operating sewing machines to manufacture products according to set specifications including: standards of quality, cost, production, efficiency and waste control.Manage quality, safety, production and maintenance of department equipment. Responsible for overseeing inventories to make sure proper supplies are on hand to meet production demands.Examines product throughout the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to quality standards.Communicate instructions, information, support, planning and encouragement effectively to employees.Maintain a high level of morale and control absenteeism and turnover on shift. Involved in addressing unacceptable performance through development and maintaining accountability systems.Participate in determining replacements and interview applicants.Uphold company policies and procedures and conduct a professional and ethical manner at all times.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: BS Degree 5 years or more of leadership experience preferably in a home fashions operation. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees as to status of production.Must be comfortable with and be able to apply quality standards to sewed products.Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, looking for ways to improve and promote quality, performance, and continuous improvement in all areas.
Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions required for this position.Able to efficiently move around production floor to different work stations to check on employees and status of product being manufactured.
