School DescriptionSt. Catherine’s School is a premier all-girls, age 3 through grade 12 Episcopal School in Richmond, Virginia. Every lesson plan, every leadership opportunity and every facility is designed just for girls.
Role DescriptionThis is a part-time on-site role for Head Varsity Volleyball Coach & Program Leader. In this role, you will oversee and lead all aspects of the Varsity program and sub-varsity teams (JV1, JV2, MSA, MSB) to provide support to student-athletes and coaches in areas such as training, game preparation, and player development. You will develop and implement practice and game plans, including individualized plans for players, and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance. You will also lead team meetings, provide video feedback, assist with scheduling, assist with volleyball coach hiring (assistants and sub-varsity coaches) and travel logistics, communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders, and coordinate with the Athletic Director and other school officials.
QualificationsPrior experience as a volleyball coach, with a strong knowledge of the game, rules, and techniquesAbility to communicate effectively with student-athletes and parents, and work collaboratively with colleagues and other stakeholdersStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to develop practice and game plansA commitment to the mission and values of St. Catherine’s School, including a dedication to the success and well-being of each student-athleteAn understanding of the unique developmental needs of girls, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive team cultureA bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in coaching and/or playing volleyball
