Stacy McLaughlin Communications is a female owned, boutique public relations firm that specializes in lifestyle and design. We are passionate about our work with clients and have over 20 years experience in communications, media relations, brand building, image consulting and so much more.

We are seeking an intern to join our team for Summer 2024!

This is an opportunity to gain priceless knowledge and hands-on experience working alongside SMC pros as a contributing team member! You will learn important foundational skills necessary for entry level positions in Public Relations, Social Media and Communications. You will assist with the day-to-day operations of public relations campaigns, social media marketing, and event planning. The ideal candidate is someone with a desire to learn, take direction well, be able to multitask and prioritize competently, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and operate under strict deadlines. Proficient at posting on Social Media. Knowing how to use Excel, Adobe, and Canva is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to)

Track media coverage for clientsPut together, distribute, and organize press clippingsAssisting in generating social media posts for SMC as well as agency clientsGenerate light correspondence with clients and mediaParticipate in internal marketing and strategy meetings Attend client meetings and take meeting notes Assist in managing, maintaining, and consistently updating agency records and databases Update media lists and create targeted lists as directedHelp with event logistics and research vendors as needed Skillfully prioritize a diverse workloadRead and research various media outlets suitable for client coverage and contributing ideas at weekly media outreach meetings

This is a paid opportunity with an hourly rate of $16 per hour. We are looking for someone to work 3 or 4 days a week and must be New York based as a combination of remote and in-person tasks will be required.
