📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Industrial Saw Operator
1st Shift, Mon-Fri
Hourly Pay: $22-$25/hour
Summary
Set-up and operate various sizes and types of power saws to cut materials (primarily metal) to meet required engineering drawings, shop orders, and instructions and production schedule(s)Receive, move and stage parts to proper locations based on the operations listed on shop orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering detail drawingsReceive, store and inventory raw materials according to size and typePreparation of material for cutting (measured to drawing required sizes)Use of templates to scribe outlines for contour cuttingAdjust equipment to obtain the best cut requirements and economyUse saw manufacturer’s recommended procedure to properly perform cutting operations.Ability to move and stage product between throughout the shop as required on the shop orders (router)Perform prescribed operator and preventive maintenance on machines as required by PM scheduleRead, interpret, and apply documents such as: safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, diagrams, procedure manualMaintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition
Required Skills
Proficient at reading and interpreting part printsStrong ability to use hand held measuring instruments (tape measure and calipers)Prior experience with saw operating required Prior experience with overhead cranes prefferedGood communication Intermediate user-level proficiency of Microsoft Outlook, Office, and computers
