Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager plans, coordinates, and directs the quality assurance program to ensure compliance with customer, federal, and state regulatory requirements. They implement and maintain Quality Assurance policies and procedures, lead the quality improvement program, and act as the plant liaison with regulatory agencies and client companies.

Job Duties

Provide leadership and direction to QA staff, including hiring, training, and development.Maintain and enhance product quality through audits, investigations of customer complaints, and collaboration with management.Ensure food safety compliance by conducting internal audits of the facility and overseeing adherence to GMPs, Sanitation, HACCP, and Safety procedures.Act as the primary plant contact for regulatory agencies and client representatives, maintaining required processing records and reports.Manage all aspects of the Quality Control Laboratory, coordinating sampling and testing with Production.Develop quality assurance plans, including hazard analysis, critical control points, monitoring procedures, and corrective actions.Oversee the Pest Control program and coordinate with contracted pest control service representative.Develop, update, and implement the plant HACCP program, leading the Food Safety Committee and ensuring proper training of plant personnel.Conduct accident investigations, implement corrective measures, and manage departmental priorities.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in quality assurance, including 3+ years of supervision or relevant training.Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field, or equivalent experience.Strong working knowledge of HACCP, quality systems, and sanitation requirements in a manufacturing facility.Excellent leadership, team-building, and motivation skills.Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making abilities.High attention to detail, self-motivated, with excellent communication and administrative skills.Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
