Accounts Receivable Analyst
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Position: Accounts Receivable Analyst Reports to: Controller
Duties and Responsibilities:Generate invoices daily based on signed Bill of Lading (BOL) and promptly send them to customers.Maintain accurate records for all incoming payments and manage multiple price lists for a diverse customer base.Investigate and secure necessary documentation for approval of credits and deductions.Prepare and issue credit notes/debit notes as required.Proactively contact customers to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices.Follow up past-due accounts and collaborate with the sales team/management to escalate collection efforts when needed.Reconcile customer accounts, resolve discrepancies, and address short payments.Send monthly Statements of Accounts to customers.Collaborate closely with Customer Service and Warehouse Departments to ensure accuracy in invoicing.Generate and maintain a customer aging report with updated notes on account statuses.Calculate and manage brokers’ commissions on a monthly basis.Maintain documentation for compliance reporting and audits.Assisting with creating journal entries related to AR and posting them to the ERP system.Providing administrative support such as answering and directing incoming calls, and sorting incoming mails.Acting as backup to the AP Analyst and customer service team as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and concepts.Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including Vlookups, Pivot tables).
Requirements and Qualifications:Associate degree in Business with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable in a B2B environment.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.Experience using ERP software and familiarity with vendors/customers portals & platforms preferred.
