Senior Accountant

Summary of Role

The Senior Accountant is responsible for driving results in a fast-paced environment by assisting in the monthly financial close process according to established timelines. The position prepares and/or records journal entries related to all areas of the general ledger, maintains, or oversees maintenance of fixed assets, and reconciles account balances and bank statements. In addition, the Senior Accountant exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. The position requires execution of the Sterling Values and non-negotiables.

Your Responsibilities Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts; work with project managers for invoicing projections, work with engineers on capital spend, and update payables position based on supplier payment termsAccurately code and post complex journal entriesParticipate in the monthly closing processPerform and maintain account reconciliationsCreate and maintain fixed assetsReview and clear GR/IR transactionsAssist with tax return and audit support, including real and personal property, sales and use taxProvide support for internal and external auditsComply with established company policies and proceduresStrong analytical mindset with knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and procedures

Requirements for the RoleBachelor's degree in Accounting with 3+ years of related experienceThorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Experience in SAP Preferred
