Audit & Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Audit & Assurance Manager to join our dynamic team at Stopp & VanHoy CPAs and Business Advisors. As Audit & Assurance Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional auditing and assurance services to our clients, contributing to their financial success.

Responsibilities:Lead Audits: Take charge of audit engagements, managing the entire process from planning to completion, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of high-quality audit services. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business operations, and providing valuable insights to enhance financial processes. Communicating with clients to gather audit workpapers and resolve inquiries.Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with a team of auditors and other professionals, providing guidance and support while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Duties include supervision of staff auditors, review of projects and workpapers, and providing support for technical issues.Financial Analysis: Perform in-depth financial analysis, evaluate internal controls, and provide recommendations for improvements, contributing to clients' financial stability and growth.Technical Expertise: Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, applying this knowledge to enhance audit procedures and methodologies. Duties include:· Prepare & review schedules and workpapers to support audit procedures for income statement and balance sheet accounts.· Reconcile financial statement accounts.· Prepare trial balances, adjusted trial balances, and audit journal entries. Qualifications:CPA Certification: A valid CPA license is required (or is in process).Experience: Minimum of 5 recent years of experience in public accounting or in the public sector, with governmental audit experience desired including experience with Single Audit.Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.Location: Open to location, with preference for St. Louis Metropolitan area/Missouri/Illinois. Position will be remote with some travel to audit sites.Technical Skills: Proficient in audit software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant accounting tools. Experience with FX engagement a plus, along with Knowledge Coach software. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to clients and team members.Analytical Thinking: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to meet challenging deadlines.Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead audit teams and mentor junior staff.
