Story Tapestries operates as a remote office with in person meetings at sites around the DMV region. However, a computer and other equipment to support your work office will be available.

The Community Partnerships Director is a pivotal role at the heart of the Story Tapestries’ Community. You will oversee the majority of community-based partner relationships with non-profits, libraries, senior facilities, museums, and businesses. You will coordinate non-school based programs including designing, coordinating, and supporting the documentation of programs; building new community partnerships and sustaining current ones; and helping to set strategic programmatic partnership goals. You will be responsible for collaborating with other Program Directors and the Operations Director to support the flow of all programs for the organization.

Duties include:Collaborates with the CEO, CDO, Operations Director and Program Directors to create the strategic outlook on the development growth for the companyWorks with the other Program Directors to research, design, plan and execute community based and workforce development programs that support our partners’ ability to build/execute programs that provide access to the arts as a tool Supports collaborations between local/national businesses and ST’s partners to benefit the overall impact of the programSeeks out and builds collaborative relationships between ST and program partners, including but not limited to: Making cold calls, sending out marketing material, attending meetingsSupports Family Programs that are connected to the School-Based Sites as neededPrimary contact for coordinating performances and programs with current and new collaborators connected to specific partnerships during out of school time hours and any out of town school partners:Communicates with existing and potential collaboratorsSets up program budgets and writes contractsIdentifies artistsSchedules datesSupports the Operations Director’s ability to send invoices and finalize contractsPrimary contact and oversight for: All Digital Equity and Amplify US! programs (ex: Digital Solutions that Bridge the Divide)Communicates with existing and potential collaboratorsSets up program budgets and writes contractsIdentifies and contracts artistsCoordinates with the Operations Director for invoicingSchedules programmingDEI oversight for the organization including:Working with the CEO, staff and Board on executing the Racial Equity Strategic Action PlanWorking with teaching artists and staff to update language and design of support materials (print and digital) to be equitable and inclusiveShare best practices and strategies that support the education of the staff on DEIMonitor accessibility and inclusion approaches for all programsSupports the internal programming and public calendarsInforms the community about potential funding opportunities when available and invites them to attend public eventsSupports CEO, CDO and Operations Director with:Program language for reports, blogs and thank you letters to all donors, foundations and program partnersQuotes/testimonials for letters requesting support during annual fundraising campaignCollaborates on and contributes to material for larger marketing publicationsSupports the payroll process and identifies when the artists need to get paidCommunicates contracts and invoices to the Operations Director on an ongoing basisCo-Manages the network of teaching artists including training, scheduling, and supporting themattending planning meetingsassisting with evaluationsidentifying and vetting new artists to add to the teamAttends informational meetings, webinars and networking events on behalf of STAttends conferences, showcases, and other events that promote the organizationCollaborates with the CDO and CEO to provide written material about the programs being executed or developed for grants or funding requestsSupports writing grant and funding request applications as well as coordinates all related efforts with program partnersDocuments programs in writing and with digital mediaSupports our database of donors and clientsUses Dropbox, Google Drive and all other digital systems made available for collaborative file sharingUses a CRM (currentlySalesforce) to document program data and log communications with program partnersManages Volunteers and Interns as applicable

Skills and Requirements:3-5 years of experience in administration and management2 or more years experience building and growing relationships with community organizations and businesses, including museums, libraries and corporate partnersBilingual required, Spanish language preferredRequires excellent oral and written communication skills, including in person, over the phone and via digital mediumsDiplomatic, patient and calm in stressful situationsUnderstanding the importance of working in an open, collaborative, multicultural, high-integrity officeComfortable working in a remote office environmentStrong organization and time-management skillsSelf-motivated and self-directedDetail-oriented Creative problem solverInnovative and big picture thinkerCapable of receiving feedback from partners and colleaguesConfident and comfortable speaking in front of othersStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, Social Media, CRMs (Salesforce preferred), Adobe, and the Google suite of toolsFlexibility as it pertains to hours; Story Tapestries does have occasional evening and weekend events (at least once/month) where the organization needs staff supportHas access to transportation to reach all of the partners
