Stranberg, the premier search firm specializing in the placement of top-tier talent for family operated companies, is seeking a proven financial leader to join the leadership team of a company built on a history of American made products, innovation, best-in-class service, and outstanding performance.
Our client, based in the Midwest, is a family-owned company that operates multiple business units that employ well over 1,000 people; has revenues in the vicinity of $500m and runs 100% debt free.
The Chief Financial Officer is a vital position in the organization that oversees all fiscal functions in the business. More importantly, this position supports the legacy and continuity of family ownership. Beyond the financial duties of the position, the role is viewed as a long-term fiduciary and confidant to current and future generations of family leadership.
Requirements 15 to 20 years of progressive financial/accounting experience with a mix of public accounting and private manufacturing, ideally automotive.Undergraduate degree in Accounting and CPA required; MBA a plus.GAAP compliance, Financial Reporting, and Monthly Close management.Strategic planning and Annual Budgeting for Operating and Capital PlansInsurance, including Captive Insurance, experience a plusExperience with the cultural and systems issues related to ERP migration QAD software background a plusAbility to foster peer relationships with other finance team members to enhance flow of communication and drive improved performance and efficiency of the finance dept.Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach and lead effectively through a changing environment.Experience leading the financial aspects of capital investments and acquisitions due diligence, including forecasting and analyzing the return on invested capital.Thorough practical experience and understanding of general ledger management and cost accounting (standard costs).Experience with internal control best practices for private companies.Proven capable at communicating timely, succinct, and accurate financial performance and information to all key stakeholders orally and in writing; provides data and answers before questions arise.Experience in a privately-held or family-owned manufacturing business desirable.
