Construction Inspector

STV’s Transportation and Infrastructure group in Douglassville, Harrisburg, Pittsburg or Philadelphia, PA is seeking seasoned transportation construction inspectors with experience on PennDOT, PA Turnpike and DRPA highway and bridge construction and rehabilitation projects.

We have upcoming needs for multiple Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) positions on short-term and long-term projects in the Philadelphia Region for clients including the PA Turnpike Commission, PennDOT, the City of Philadelphia, and the Delaware River Port Authority. Positions require 1 to 5 years of experience on highway and/or bridge construction inspection projects, along with NICET level II or III (Highway Construction), NECEPT Asphalt Field Technician, ACI and/or PennDOT/NECEPT Concrete Technician certifications. Certifications in Stormwater Management, Guiderail/Attenuator installation, and OSHA/Safety are also desired.

A HS Diploma (or GED) and relevant technical highway or bridge construction or construction inspection experience is required. An AS or BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred. Required Skills & Relevant Experience

1 - 5+ years of construction inspection and/or management experience with NICET II or NICET III Certification in Highway Construction, or with a BS Degree, the ability to obtain certifications at the earliest opportunityExperienced with PennDOT’s and/or the PA Turnpike’s Construction Documentation System,(CDS), ECMS, and PPCC systems, Kahua project management software, or other document control softwareHave combination of ACI/PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT Asphalt, Traffic Control, Guide Rail, Stormwater Management, OSHA Construction Safety and/or other related certificationsKnowledge of highway and bridge construction specifications, standards, materials, and work methodsMath skills as required to make linear, area and volume measurements and calculate items of work in proper measurement unitsPrepare inspection reports on work in progress and completed work, including quantity calculations, and witness and document material testingAbility to review contractor’s procedures, materials, and work product for conformance with plans and specificationsPossess strong written, verbal, and basic computer skills (excel, word, emails)Willingness to work in a safe manner and within company, project, and OSHA safety guidelines on a highway/bridge construction siteBe able to work nights and weekends and possess a valid driver’s license and vehicleNight work may be requiredAbility and willingness to attend training / classes to obtain additional inspection and safety certifications

Compensation Range

$63,147.00 - $84,196.00
