Accounts Receivable Manager / Business Analyst

Responsibilities: The Accounts Receivable Manager / Business Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the organization by overseeing the accounts receivable process and providing analytical insights to support business decision-making. This role involves managing the accounts receivable team, analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and implementing strategies to optimize cash flow and minimize credit risk. In addition, this position will assist with other special financial projects.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Accounts Receivable ManagementSupervise the accounts receivable team, including hiring, training, and performance management.Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.Implement and enforce credit policies to minimize bad debt risk.Coordinate with sales and customer care teams to resolve billing discrepancies and customer issues.Manage relationships with key customers to ensure timely payments and resolve payment disputes.Financial AnalysisAnalyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.Prepare and present financial reports, including AR aging analysis and collections forecasts.Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure accounts receivable performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategicinitiatives.Process ImprovementIdentify inefficiencies in the accounts receivable process and recommend process improvements or automation solutions.Implement best practices for credit risk management and fraud prevention. Leverage technology tools and systems to optimize AR processes and enhance reporting capabilities.Compliance and AuditEnsure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.Coordinate with auditors during financial audits and provide support for accounts receivable- related inquiries.Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends related to accounts receivable.Required Skills/Abilities:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. CPA certification preferred.Proven experience (5+ years) in accounts receivable management, financial analysis, or related roles.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross- functional teams and external stakeholders.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite), Microsoft Excel, and other financial analysis tools.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) is a plus.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA or CPA designation is a plus.Proven experience (5+ years) in accounts receivable management, financial analysis, or related roles.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate actionable insights.Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practicesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross- functional teams and external stakeholders.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite), Microsoft Excel, and other financial analysis tools.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.Experience with process improvement methodologies is a plus.Requirements:Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.Position is based in Naperville, IL, but open to remote work arrangements.Ability to travel to Surf’s offices throughout the region.
