Corrective Maintenance Foreman

Summary

Provides oversight for all aspects of corrective maintenance on equipment across the field operation which covers mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and instrumentation devices and systems. Strong focus on defect elimination to improve equipment and systems performance with the goal of reducing downtime and cost of ownership. This individual will report directly to the Operations Manager and be one of the key leaders working to improve maintenance activity and reliability, minimize downtime and reduce operating costs.

Responsibilities

Supervise a team comprising a mechanical corrective maintenance lead, I&E (instrument & electrical) corrective maintenance lead and administrative assistant. Execute equipment repairs. Corrective measures and facility minor upgrades focused on reducing the amount of corrective work on equipment over time to improve performance. Coordinate the resource deployment to address equipment failures in support of production by ensuring priorities are met based on minimizing production downtime on equipment. Forward planning and scheduling of repair-based facility shutdowns to minimize downtime, incorporate minor upgrades (such as sacrificial anode retrofit) and ensuring that all aspects of facility repair and preventive maintenance testing during a shutdown is coordinated in conjunction with other teams. Support focused defect elimination & root cause reviews and improvements with the Houston engineering team which involves the investigation of sudden or chronic failures and associated evidence and data gathering, followed by evaluation of solution options identified. Implement quality repairs and use newer technologies for repair i.e., composite material repairs on pressure vessels and storage tanks etc. Raise MOC’s (management of change requests) to implement process, system and equipment improvements. Then follow up on improvements made to determine effectiveness of changes made. Maintain the quality of corrective work order classification to ensure reliability data can sourced readily. Ensure corrective work orders are properly documented with quality comments and findings included then closed out in a timely fashion within the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system). Ensure accurate costs are maintained for repairs in corrective work orders including manhours expended for the tasks so that activity levels are known, cost performance is tracked and correct budgeting for repairs is achieved. Coordinate the installation of new Pumping Units including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentationWork closely with the Preventive Maintenance work teams as well as the Construction team on equipment related issues. Work closely with the Production Optimization team to coordinate activities that impacts downtime on equipment. Work closely with the Houston Engineering team as well as the SCADA coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong safety culture and process leadership that includes Surge contract crews. Ability to conduct complex electrical system calculations and working knowledge on power line and substations facilities. A broad understanding of process systems and the associated mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems. A base discipline of knowledge and willingness to get involved and understand cross discipline systems and equipment. Strong working knowledge of CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems).

Qualifications

10+ years’ progressive experience in oil and gas field operations; including 2+ years in team lead/leadership roles. Demonstrated experience across a wide range of equipment and systems- including variety of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems. GEDMust be willing to work outside of core hours and handle call-outs.

Preferred Qualifications

15+ years’ progressive experience in oil and gas field operations; including leading and supervising crews and contract workforce. Electrical DegreeProven leader with a combination of strong technical skills and effective interpersonal skills around communication, motivating teams, and collaboration.
