📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Swilled Dog, an award-winning craft beverage company based in West Virginia, is looking for a Marketing Assistant to join our team. We’re seeking a creative, passionate and self-motivated team member who wants to love where they work. The ideal candidate needs to be organized, reliable and have knowledge or interest in a variety of marketing disciplines.
This position will work with the Director of Marketing to help plan and execute marketing communications both on and offline. The Marketing Assistant will support all areas of the business to help drive brand awareness, sales, and visitors to our tasting rooms in Upper Tract, WV.
Working remotely, the ideal candidate will need great time-management skills and focus. Our team is very proactive and creative and we love to bring ideas to life quickly. Swilled Dog has seen huge success and has even bigger goals for the future, which means there’s lots of room to grow and develop both personally and professionally.
Responsibilities
Content Creation:Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to develop an annual social media strategy, fostering a sense of community with our customers and loyal fansGenerate fresh and authentic content from our distillery, cidery, and tasting rooms for all digital platforms, including social media, website, blog, and newslettersExecute posting across all social media channels according to Swilled Dog's social media strategyAssist with the organization and coordination of photo and video shoots when necessary Manage the archiving of photos and videos for future useMonitor social media and industry trends
Online Marketing:Assist in optimizing and updating the website to enhance user experience, drive traffic, and boost salesOnline reviews and reputation management: Encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews on platforms like Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor. Monitor and respond promptly to both positive and negative reviews to maintain a positive online reputation
Graphic DesignDevelop creative marketing materials, including point-of-sale materials, advertising, and digital contentUpdate and modify existing marketing collateral, including brochures, posters, trade show materials, and digital assets.
Tasting Room Marketing:Work with the Director of Marketing to create an annual marketing program aimed at increasing visits to our tasting roomProvide support through the design of print and promotional materialsDevelop compelling social media content that builds a strong brand image and narrates the story of our tasting room experiencePromote events and activities through all online channelsDesign and manage a loyalty program that focuses on retaining customers and increasing engagement with our loyal followersManage the design and ordering process for apparel and merchandise, working with vendors and suppliers
Overall Marketing Support:Contribute creatively to marketing campaigns and promotionsDevelop and maintain a database of local market, state, national and trade media contacts; assist with pitching stories, writing press releases, fact sheets, and media-related materialsAct as a brand champion, responding to consumer inquiries and confidently representing our brand and product portfolioOrganize and maintain marketing assets and photo/video archiveWork with external vendors and partners to coordinate marketing activities and print materials

Requirements:Degree in Marketing or a relevant field or at least 1 year of experience in a marketing environment.Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyExperience with graphic design or basic knowledge of design software (Adobe Creative Suite)Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with digital tools (i.e. Google Drive)Experience with social media platformsCharitably inclined and passionate about making a difference for our four-legged friendsBonus points for experience in graphic design, photography and video editingMust have reliable transportation to Upper Tract, WV tasting room as needed
