📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Swisslog is growing! Join our Sales, Solutions and Design team as a Simulation Engineer who will extract data and computate/reassemble/analyze/received data in a way to allow design of warehouses (intra logistics) based on data-files (text) from potential clients operating or planning warehouses,
Methods of data-analysis of warehouses in Swisslog’s line of bussines is available
Based on data-analysis and Material Handling solution developed by System Designer or Consultant simulate the solution using our simulation tool (AutoMod and/or SIM3D)
Responsibilities
Technical/Commercial Knowledge
Data-analysis tools suchs as MS Excel, MS Access and SQL Server Matematical formulas commonly used in materal handling business (Pareto curve, safety stock etc.)Understand basics in material handling systems (will get training)Understand typical warehouse operations (will get training)Have done some type of computer simulation works (in material handling of other flow simulations types) with any simulation tool.

Conduct communication with clients to clarify any received data-filesGood English required
Analytical thinking & decision making
High analytical thinking to understand data files received from clients and their relation to clients operationJudge received data and put forward any clarification required to make professional data-analysis to form the basis for material handling solutions
Flexibility
Adjust data-analysis to different material handling solutions and future growth scenarios as directed by System Designers and Consultants
Team work
High skills working together with team to meet set dead-lines and tasksPresent data-analysis results to internal team at reviews and to clients
Communication
Open minded communication skills for clear communication between team members and clients
Location
Newport News, VA office..
Application Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with a preference for a major in MathProficeint in at least one simulation package for material handling systemsProficient in MS Excel and MS accessExperience in any simulation packageAt least 3 years experience in data-analysis and mathematical analysis Experience from Material Handling industry and logistics/supply chain environment is preferredProficient in SQL server (programming) or similar is strongly preferred
