Service Technician manages all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks. They diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions. They are responsible for the service and customer support during field visits and dispatches. Earn Up to $5,000 retention bonus available, paid in 4 quarterly increments.

Essential Functions

Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition on the job site or in the shopPerforms routine equipment clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspectionsInspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions and adjusts heavy equipment as required and completes all paperwork on the equipment to which the individual is assignedParticipate in all training programs directed by Service ManagerBring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to useMaintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulationsCompletes basic computer tasks including completing work orders, looking up parts, and communicating via emailCommunicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top quality equipment is always available and customer expectation is exceededProvide service and customer support during field visits or dispatchesTie workflow to schedule Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasksDiagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutionsProduce timely and detailed service reportsOperate vehicle in a safe manner and use field automation systemsFollow all company’s filed procedures and protocolsCooperate with technical team and share information across the organizationComprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefingsBuild positive relationships with customers Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions

Required Education And Experience

3 to 5 years of diesel technician experience or recent technical schooling degreeExtensive knowledge of heavy equipmentProven field service experienceAbility to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipmentMust have own toolsMust have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving recordAbility to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules

Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

Environment is consistent with that of construction, heavy equipment and repair yard May work in extreme conditions on job sites

Travel Required

Position may require several hours of driving daily to job sites

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
