From our supportive culture, diverse workforce, and competitive compensation to our flexible work schedules and fun social events, it is everything you will need for an exciting, challenging, and rewarding career.Job Responsibilities:As a Staff Accountant, you will assist in all aspects of general accounting with a primary focus on the general ledger and related general ledger activities.Some responsibilities include:Coordinate with project accountants to ensure timely booking of all project expenses.Prepare monthly journal entries and month-end closings.Handle multiple monthly band reconciliations and meet accounting close schedule.Research internal issues and make suggestions to solutions, where necessary.Prepare account analysis and assist with the preparation and reporting of financial statements to Management and the CFO.Perform tax planning and compliance including general business taxes.Maintain corporate business licensing requirements for all company entities.Participate in special projects (scheduled and unscheduled) as requested.Notify AP to follow up with vendors who have checks aged over 90 days during bank reconciliations.Assist with documentation requirements during periodic internal and annual external audits.Other duties as assigned by Management.Job Requirements:The ideal candidate will enjoy a team environment and be flexible enough to work independently where needed. Candidates for this role will be eager to learn and will expand their knowledge and hands-on experience by challenging themselves and using the highly technical resources around them.Additional job requirements:Accounting Degree or equivalent years of experience.1-5 years of relevant experience in public or private accounting.Proficiency in MSN Office Suite specifically Excel and business account software.Proven effective communication skills to interface with staff, regulatory agencies, independent accounts and vendors.Ability to balance multiple priorities and goals set with manager.Team player - willing to share information with group peers and manager.Driven individual, willing to take ownership of results and career development.Possess skills and knowledge to perform the job competently.Demonstrate concern for the accuracy and quality of work and take steps to correct mistakes and improve the overall process.Ability to respond to customer requests in a timely manner and communicate with customers to ensure that they are satisfied and that their needs are being met.Ability to accept changes and respond to set-back with minimal disruption.Benefits:As an employee of Syska Hennessy, you will be part of a global firm with an amazing history!
