GENERAL INTRODUCTION
The Fixed Income Desk Quant resides within the Fixed Income Quantitative Investments and Research Group. The Desk Quant works directly and closely with Fixed Income Portfolio Managers to provide quantitative analyses of various potential trades, quantitative model based alpha signals, trade implementation analyses, etc. The Desk Quant will be a point person to provide day-to-day quantitative support to fixed income strategies.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Investment Analysis and Research
Quantitative investment research experience focused on short-term or low duration fixed income strategies are a plusSupport portfolio managers’ investment process by conducting quantitative analyses incorporating with their investment viewsDevelop quantitative model based alpha signals in macro, sector, and security level to recommend potential investment opportunities to portfolio managersDevelop interactive applications to make the model outputs easily accessibleAnalyze how to best implement trades in terms of instrument types, optimal sizes, risks, etc. consolidated with the current holdingsExamples of trade types include, but not limited to directional views, market neutral relative value, portfolio optimization, risk budget, effective hedging, etc.
Other Responsibilities
Partner with the Technology organization to productionize developed quantitative modelsCollaborate with the research and investment teams to conceptualize new investment approachesProvide analytical support to sales pitches, client meetings, product development efforts as needed
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred. CFA designation is a plus5+ years of investment experience working on, or with, a trading desk Prior experience in capital market, fixed-income asset management, portfolio optimization, and complex derivatives instruments, preferably in quantitative researchProficiency in statistics, econometrics, financial mathematics, and strong programming skills in R, Python, SQL, etc. are essential for successPrior experience in Bloomberg product family such as PORT, BQNT, BPIPE, etc. preferredExcellent communication and presentation skills to explain and discuss sophisticated quant models and investment strategiesDetailed knowledge of fixed income market, instruments, and analytics

Ability to establish rapport and work collaboratively with investors. Ability to work independently on projects.Successful candidate will be highly motivated and detail-orientedAbility to master complex tasks with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate ideas effectively and solve problems creativelyCQF is a plus

Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for remote work up to one day a week.
