📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
A healthcare network in Manhattan is actively seeking a dedicated and patient oriented CASAC Counselor to join their growing staff. In this role, the CASAC Counselor engages the patient in the initial and ongoing treatment processes of the clinic.
Responsibilities
The CASAC Counselor:Holds regularly scheduled sessions with their patients concerning their problems and psycho-social needs.Serves as a Case Manager for each patient to ensure that services are coordinated to meet each assessed needConducts therapy groupsAssists patients in the identification of problemsWorks with patients in the definition of problemsEnsures all necessary forms are completedMaintains accurate and confidential patient recordsAttends training seminars where instruction on treatment techniques and theories underlying these approaches are provided, and obtain the CASAC credentialIdentifies and records significant data in the case folder regularlyDevelops treatment plans for presentation to the IDT
QualificationsExperience in Human Services providing treatment careExperience as a Substance Abuse Counselor.Obtain and maintain CASAC (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor) license.Demonstrated ability in delivering patient treatmentFamiliar with Regulatory Agency Regulations regarding the operation and practices of patient careUnderstanding of group dynamicsComputer-literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsCompetent in computerized programs that support treatment plans and case notesExcellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired skillsBilingual skillsBachelor's degree in a human services field
