POSITION OVERVIEW
The Field Service Trainer is responsible for training, coaching, and developing field service technicians. This role ensures that all technicians are equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide exceptional service, maintain high-quality standards, and meet safety regulations.
Key Job Responsibilities
Training Development & Delivery
Develop training curriculum based on company standards, product updates, and industry standardsConduct hands-on training sessions, both on-site and in classroom settings.Utilize various training methodologies, including hands-on, classroom, and virtual training.
Assessment & Feedback
Evaluate the performance of technicians during and after training to ensure comprehension and skill acquisition.Provide feedback and coaching to improve technician performance.Regularly review and update training materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
Collaboration
Collaborate with field service managers and team leads to identify training needs.Work with the product and engineering teams to stay updated on product changes and updates.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure that all training modules adhere to company safety protocols and industry regulations.Stay informed about industry standards and incorporate them into training sessions.
Documentation & Reporting
Document training attendance, progress, and evaluations.Provide regular reports on training activities, successes, and areas for improvement.

Job Skills
Proven experience as a Field Service Trainer, Technical Trainer, or similar role.Strong understanding of the company's products, services, and field service operations.Exceptional communication and presentation skills.Ability to design and execute training programs.Technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn about new products and services.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Proficient in MS Office and familiar with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Education & Training
HVAC Trade school and/or apprenticeship training preferred.Military training and/or technical work experience could be considered in lieu of trade school certification.Certifications in training or technical instruction are a plus.
Minimum Requirements
Significant project field experience in construction support, startup, repair, and maintenance work.Experience with variable frequency drive startup and troubleshooting (Eaton and Allen-Bradley), verification of compliance with ASHRAE, ASME, and other relevant codes and practices, Centrifugal Chillers, Cooling Towers, VFDAbility to design and implement programs to improve performanceStrong communication skills, both written and verbalStrong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressedKnowledge of Learning Management Software (LMS)
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Primarily site-based, with the requirement to be on manufacturing floor regularly.Some office work may be required for documentation, reporting, and meetings.May involve travel to various Houston locations.Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable;Requires normal vision and absence of color blindnessPhysical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials;Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach;The use of Safety Glasses is required;The use of earplugs is recommended;Steel-toe boots required
