Position Overview
We are in search of an enthusiastic and driven HR Summer Intern to join our team and spearhead initiatives aimed at cultivating our talent pipeline & employer presence through strategic community partnerships. We prioritize innovation and diversity in all of our endeavors. As we expand, we are committed to nurturing a diverse talent pool and strengthening our ties with our local communities. This internship offers an opportunity to help a rapidly growing company focus on fostering relationships with community organizations, be more known in our communities, and attract top talent.
Key Responsibilities
Community Partnership Development:Identify and establish relationships with community organizations, government programs, educational institutions, and/or nonprofit groups to create mutually beneficial partnerships. Collaborate with these partners to develop relationships & initiatives aimed at attracting talent from underrepresented communities. Act as a liaison between Techniplas and community organizations, representing our values and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Work with our local HR teams to provide them recommendations, tools, and plans to create and maintain thriving relationships with these local organizations long past this summer. Research local charitable events and programs in our communities; make recommendations to our HR teams on participation. Talent Pipeline Cultivation:Work closely with community partners to identify potential candidates for open positions at Techniplas. Develop targeted recruitment strategies to engage with students, recent graduates, and professionals from diverse backgrounds. Analyze our current sourcing methods (e.g., LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, company career page, job ads, etc.) for improvement in reaching targeted candidate pools, and provide perspective & guidance on new sourcing methods we do not already utilize. Research and benchmark best practices to promote Techniplas as an employer of choice within the community. Employer Branding and Outreach:Collaborate with the Corporate HR team to develop content highlighting our community partnerships, initiatives, and values for distribution on social media, career pages, and other channels. Focus on creating content that shows who we really are as organization and who we want to be known as. Research to stay in the know of community events, job fairs, etc. that members of our local teams could attend to expand our awareness as an employer. Communicate these opportunities with our local HR teams. Where possible in this short amount of time, monitor and analyze the impact of community partnerships on our employer brand and make recommendations for further engagement and improvement.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human ResourcesStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability & confidence to articulate the value of community partnerships and other related initiatives to internal and external stakeholders. Proactive and results-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to drive projects forward and meet objectives. Self-starter who is eager to research, learn, and keep themselves accountable to their projects. Must be able to communicate progress & when help is needed. Familiarity with community outreach and DEI initiatives is preferred. We are looking for someone passionate about this type of outreach. Experience with recruiting and sourcing candidates for employment. Proficiency in administrative programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Knowledge of employer sourcing and marketing outlets such as LinkedIn, Facebook, advertising, etc. is preferred. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a highly discreet manner. General knowledge of employment laws related to recruiting. Ability to work full-time hours (40 hours/week) over the summer. Dates for the duration of the internship will be determined based on the chosen candidate's school schedule, but need a candidate who is available to work the full duration. Ideally the internship will run from mid-May to mid-August.
