SDET - Software Developer In Test

Location: 3 days onsite & 2 days Remote - based from Alpharetta, GA

Our client is well known for payroll software and they also have time management software. They have 4-5 versions of time management software. Trying to build the products for the next generation.

The primary job responsibility for the Automation tester will be test automation using frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.The Automation tester will work closely with the development team and product owners to define test cases and ensure clear communication.We are looking for someone with extensive experience in test automation, preferably with experience in engineering or manual QA. The team size consists of four different teams, and the Automation tester will work with multiple teams. The team follows Agile methodology and measures performance based on completed work, quality, and collaboration with team members and product owners.We are focused on building products for the next generation and considers this role to be important for the organization.

Responsibilities

The SDET Engineer will have a wide variety of responsibilities:

Hands on involvement in all development projects. Test Planning, Test Scenarios, Test Automation, Test Framework creation and Defect Logging and verification.Actively participate and contribute in reviews of requirements, design, schedules, and test plans.Apply Quality best practices from project inception to deployment and beyond.Identify and report defects through JIRA and tracking through closure.Ensures that the reliability, performance, and functionality of assigned features and functionality meet or exceed business goals.Work to uncover possible defect causes instead of "throwing it over the wall"Will participate in manual testing where and when required

Qualifications

8+ years overall QA experience both Manual and Automation with large enterprise systems and or B2C or B2B products4+ years experience with automated testing platforms including Selenium, Cypress, Playwright Robot, Protractor, Café, Cucumber etcExperience developing robust automation frameworks using tools like Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, PlaywrightGood Java coding skills in relation to the testing frameworksGood scripting skills around test automationJavaScriptRubyPythonFamiliar with testing RESTful API’s and MicroservicesExperience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or an equivalentJob scheduler experience with tools like Jenkins or HudsonFamiliarity with build tools like Maven, Grunt, Gradle is a plusFamiliar with version control using GitSkilled in reading log files. Good analytic skills to determine root cause of issues based on logs.Dedicated to continuous improvement process including designing and documenting processes.Familiarity with applications built using AWS a plusExperience testing Oozie, Kafka, or Spark a plusKnowledge of basic SQL a plusFamiliar with container technologies like Docker, K8s is a plusMust have the ability to take initiative and be entrepreneurialExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenMust be a team player
