Job Title: Lab Technician - Senior Work Location: Austin, TX 78735 Duration: 18 Months Work Type: Contract Job Type: Onsite JOB Description: Client’s high-profile SoC Platform Engineering team is seeking a hardworking system-engineering lab technician to help test the latest SoC products and contribute to issue identification, replication, and problem resolution. This role will be pivotal in bringing client’s next generation SoC based products into Data Center products. The Person: Sr. Technician is responsible for the deployment of NPI engineering projects involving client IP (Silicon, HW, SW) and debug of client server hardware infrastructure. Responsibilities: Provide engineering expertise to technical teams spanning multiple disciplines and geographies. Engage with internal stakeholders in product planning, development, and validation activities. Deploy and maintain Virtualized Infrastructure as well as any associated network dependencies. Setup up environment for containerized infrastructure and administer deployment of containers. Deploy and maintain NPI server products while overseeing the efforts of other engineers and contractors. Configure and manage VLANs on managed switches across Datacenter environment. Track and report status vs. objectives throughout the lifecycle of the program. Preferred Skills and Attributes: Excellent communication and leadership skills, both written and oral High attention to detail and good follow through in a fast-paced environment Experience in areas of data center system deployment, software development, and validation. Hands-On experience with VMware and Windows hypervisor. Hands-On experience with vSphere, vCenter and replication. Experience with containerized environment using Docker. Familiarity with container orchestration tools is a plus. Familiarity with testing tools, methodologies, and defect tracking Ability to function independently with little direct supervision. CompTIA Server+ or similar certification is preferred. Should be able to travel on short notices. Physical Requirements – Candidate needs to be able to lift 50lbs and be flexible enough to get under a raised floor as needed.
