What To Expect
Tesla is seeking a Sr. Policy Advisor to join the Public Policy & Business Development team. The assigned territory for this position will be North America, preference for Bay Area or Washington, DC. Tesla’s Policy team supports the company’s objectives by engaging key stakeholders on a broad range of policy platforms, including legislative, municipal, business development and regulatory matters to support electric vehicle, autonomous vehicle, charging infrastructure, solar energy, manufacturing, and deployment. The Sr. Policy Advisor also acts as an initial business development lead, searching for, responding to, and assessing potential local and regional business relationships and partnerships.
What You'll Do
Developing internal policy proposals and strategySupporting legislative and regulatory policy proposals at the state, regional and municipal levelsDeveloping and negotiating policy proposals and business development opportunities, advocating on behalf of Tesla to parties, stakeholders, and state leaders, as well as engaging community, industry, and related organizationsCoalition building and 3rd party outreach
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability7 years of direct experience with policy and regulatory issues in the automotive sector is requiredKnowledge of sustainable transportation, automated vehicle and licensing lawsMust have a proven track record for advancing critical policy initiativesMust be detail-oriented and well-organized self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to self-manage and committed to working in a fast-paced environment
