Here's What You'll Need
An Associate's Degree in Applied Science or the completion of accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology or a High School Diploma/Equivalent with 2 years of work experience in invasive cardiology is required. (Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required.)One (1) year of EP experience is highly preferred.Two (2) years in invasive cardiology experience is required if high school diploma.ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologist upon hire required orRCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist upon required orCMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist if ARRT upon hire andBCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required andACLS—Advanced Cardiac Life Support—within 90 days required. Call is required.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Patient Care
Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing
Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factorsAssists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunctionMaintains equipment and room to sanitary standards
