Chemours is seeking a Chemistry Co-op to join our New Johnsonville team! This position will report directly to the Engineering Supervisor.
As a Chemistry Co-op, you will work closely with the New Johnsonville team gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects supporting a chemical plant. You will have exposure to real-time chemistry work alongside other chemists and engineers to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom.
Effective chemistry co-ops will have the ability to communicate with impact, have strong self-awareness, and will be naturally inquisitive.
Location: New Johnsonville, TN
Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
Preferred First Term: August-December 2024
A year-long commitment is strongly preferred for this role.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Working with experienced chemistry and engineering professionals on improvement and support projects Assisting operations with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving chemistry issues Participating in process safety management activities and reviews Contributing to team meetings and conference calls
The Following Is Required For This Role
Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a rising Sophomore or above at time of assignment Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or similar fields Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
The Following Is Preferred For This Role
Participation in relevant activities, organizations, and projects beyond the classroom 3.0 GPA or above
