Chemours is seeking a Maintenance E&I Technician to join our growing Maintenance team! This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor at our Fayetteville, North Carolina location.

The E&I Mechanic is responsible for a wide variety of maintenance assignments including maintaining and troubleshooting equipment. Demonstrate knowledge of equipment, specifications, procedures, tools, materials, and techniques used in the installation and maintenance of Electrical, Instrument and DCS equipment. This position regularly exercises self-managing, independent judgment in installing, repairing, calibrating, adjusting, and checking equipment. The candidate must be capable of diagnosing causes and sources of electrical and instrumentation failures and initiating corrective action. This includes working with Technical, Operation and Mechanical personnel, and others to meet the common objective of safely producing quality products at a minimum cost. Work must be performed safely with a high level of skill, proficiency, and thoroughness. Assignments are varied in scope and require the ability to use many different types of tools and equipment, as well as knowledge of the capabilities of each. This knowledge and its application through use of a variety of abilities constitutes the multi-skilled performance required of E&I Mechanics. Candidate maintains his/her knowledge and ability in a variety of areas on a current basis and must successfully complete site’s E&I training and certification within one year of hire date. This position includes and not limited to other general E&I maintenance work as needed.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Maintaining 480 VAC motor starters, VFD’s and motors.Troubleshooting control circuits (24 VDC, and 120 VAC).Maintaining troubleshooting and configuring PLCs and DCS systems.Performing instrument calibrations.Repairing instrumentation, control valves, and maintaining analyzersConfiguring process control software and process graphicsCheck out field devices related to the DCS, Safety Manager, PLC, and DeviceNet systems to assure field devices are interfaced, tested and functioning correctly.Lead and/or assist in diagnosing and correcting control system malfunctions. Participate as needed in functional check-outs of new equipment.Read and understand prints such as: P&ID’s (Process & Instrumentation Drawings), Loop sheets, electrical connection drawings, single line drawings, logic drawings, and ladder logic.

The Following Is Required For This Role

High School diploma or equivalent plus at least one of the following:3 to 5 years’ minimum experience in the field of Electrical Maintenance and/or Industrial InstrumentationAssociate degree, Journeyman’s Certification, NCCER or successfully completed vocational-tech program directly related to Instrumentation/Electrical Maintenance and Installation. Adequate relevant field experience may be considered.Valid Driver’s LicenseAbility to work 8-10 hours shifts or 12 hours rotating shifts (including weekends and holidays) and overtime, under various conditions including some outside work in all weather conditions. Demonstrated knowledge of math, the ability to understand trend charts and scale reading.Ability to climb stairs and ladders, and work at elevated heights. Walk, stand, safely lift 50 pounds and wear various protective equipment, wear industrial safety equipment; hard hat, gloves (both leather and chemical), hearing protection, FR clothing, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, goggles, respirators, chemical suit.
