SCOPEWe have an automation client in Madison Heights that is looking to add a Project Manager to their team- focused on taking the company to the next level. They are building up their critical departments, project management being one of them. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the ground-level growth objectives and for supporting successful project execution from the cradle to the grave

COMPANY International integrator of automation systems Global revenues are about $600M, this business unit is about $15M (which was $4M last year) 30 employees locally and growing

RESPONSIBILITIESProject initiation/agreement/offer phase- help to define the scope of delivery and services, while securing customer requirements and reducing riskParticipation in the creation and definition of goals for deadlines, costs and qualityThe project manager has the right to object to the selection of internal and external suppliersProject team leadership- lead the project team and promote identification and communication for everyone involved in the project tasksCreation of the responsibility matrix and definition of the rules of the gameProject planning- plan the project with customer milestones and the support of the project team including determining the project organization, quality planning and risk managementCentral interface to the customer, processing the customer service interface agreementDetermine the change process within the project, documents it and provides the operational implementation of any changesIdentify potential for improvement in existing processesProject internal controlling- plans, monitors and controls the project together with the project teamProject reporting- regularly present deviations from the plan and emerging risks and set out corrective measures in fixed and regular standard reports (milestone tracker, LOP, PEB)Participate in project meetings and status discussions, which must be recordedCoordinate escalations (Weekly Operation Meeting)Project review- organization and implementation of regular/real-time project reviews, including transfer of the lessons learned in the LISY databaseRisk management and claim management: The project manager initiates and monitors risk and claims managementProject completion- hand off to the after sales and service team upon completion

QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of project management experience in the automation industryExperience in modern project management methods and toolsCreating schedulesPPS and ERP systems (MS Office and MS Project)High level of technical knowledge in automation manufacturing processes [common joining and process technologies such as welding (MIG, MAG...), laser welding (laser, laser hybrid...), screwing, gluing, and positioning]Measuring and testing robotics, portal technology, in the field of electromobilityStrong correspondence and communication skillsNegotiation skillsInternational experienceVocational training in metal, further training as a technician or engineer preferred
