📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Title: Human Resources GeneralistLocation: Brea, CA (Onsite)Job Type: Full-Time

Summary: This position acts as a partner to the business by applying corporate HR strategy, providing professional HR guidance, and supporting managers/supervisors and employees with the objective of adding value to the business. The position requires supporting the HR Director in the areas of employee relations, training and development, succession planning, performance management, compensation, talent acquisition and retention and overall adherence to all federal and state employment practices.

Experience/ Education Requirements:Must have bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or another related field.Significant knowledge in California and Federal employment law and HR practicesHR Certifications - SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred.5+ years of Human Resources experience, including experience in several HR functions such as employee relations, organizational development, training, benefits, workers compensation, HRIS, etc.,Must have previous experience in a lean manufacturing environment.Highly proficient with MS Office applications: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and WordMust have knowledge with pivot tables, formulas, and v-lookup.Proficient in HR Software such as ADP VantageDetail oriented, well-organized, accurate, and able to effectively perform multiple tasks.Strong communication (both written and oral) and listening skills and great follow-up skills.Must be Bilingual (Spanish, written and oral)

Primary Responsibilities:Recruiting:Assists with scheduling interview appointments for applicants.Prepares offer letters to nonexempt, and/or exempt new hires.Coordinate the pre-placement physical and drug screens and results with each applicant and initiates background and other screening requirements.

New Hire Orientations:Prepares new hire packets for new employees.Provides orientation for new employees by providing information packets, reviewing company policies, gathering withholding and other payroll information, explaining benefit programs, and obtaining signatures for documents.

Other responsibilities:Maintaining employee files and documentation: benefits, attendance records and dissemination of safety and other company employee policies and related monitoring.Improve onboarding documentation and constantly update based on current regulations.Assist HR Director in educating branch managers and supervisors on proper methods and procedures for newly hired employees.Monitor branch compliance on all documentation.Administering all employee benefits such as PTO, vacation, sick and various health related insurances.Enforce companywide uniformity of handbook policies and procedures along with safety, legal compliance.Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies and procedures.Provides support and advice to managers and supervisors to arrive and document appropriate disciplinary actions; assists in documenting and applying effective and sustainable improvement plans.Ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.Strong problem-solving and critical/analytical thinking skills; and organized with long-term outlook in any decision.Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage a variety of tasks to achieve results.Maintains a professional, collaborative demeanor in performing duties adhering to strict confidentiality.Partner with HR Director and EH&S staff on worker injuries and other EH&S topics.Assist HR Director and EH&S department with workers compensation claims.Ensure compliance with appropriate governmental and legal regulations, policies and procedures, especially those impacting Federal Contractors.
