Job description :- Experience in Mainframe Db2 v11 & v12 and IMS v13, v15 Database System-Administration on z/OSDB2, IMS internals, installation, upgrade, patchin g, configuration and operationsProficiency in DB2, Datacom, IMS Systems Performance Tuning and Capacity PlanningExperience in Data Sharing setup in Parallel Sysplex environmentKnowledge in RACF, CICS v5.5, Mainframe MQ v9Experience in SMPE and ISV tools installation and migrationCreate and maintain database entities, including instances, databases, table spaces and tablesDatabase DR, Cloning, Backup/Recovery, HA and Point In Time Recovery (PITR) expertiseExperience with Database ISV Tools and Products like OmegaMon and AdminToolApplication related performance tuning; Write, modify, and debug database specific SQL queriesDBA related utilities like Unload, Load, DSNJU003, DSNJU004, Reorg, Runstats, image copyREXX, CLIST, JCL, JES and Assembler knowledgePerform daily system monitoring tasks using SYSVIEW and Datacom utilitiesCreate and maintain DQRY users.Create, alter and maintain area tables for access through CA-IDEAL, CA-DQRY.
Responsibility :-Manage BAU (Business As Usual) Service Delivery for Mainframe DB in a Technical CapacityThis is for a pure Technical Hands-On role and not for a Team Lead PositionWork on MI (Major Incidents) / P1 (Priority-1) and lesser Tickets as a part of BAU SupportProvide Business hours support and then On-Call support as is the norm in BAU Service Delivery Role.Ensure Mainframe System Availability @ 99.99% and work towards meeting agreed SLAsDefine and provide guidance for database creation, configuration, upgrade, patches and refresh requirementsRecommend operating system and database performance monitoring, tuning and configuration changesExperience with database physical and logical design, query analysis and optimizationProvide technical assistance and subject matter expertise to applications groupsProvide database storage manage ment and capacity management recommendationsDefine and manage database security and access permissions in consultation with customerEnsure completion of authorized Service Requests, Changes, Problem ticketsManage escalations and track Service Delivery and ensure SLA compliance including with vendorsReview and update the SOP documents on regular basisSupport on all in-flight and upcoming project activitiesRecommend and perform customer-approved database replication procedures
