📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
THIS POSITION IS ON-SITE ON THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST. We are not considering remote candidates. The Focus Group seeks candidates for a Senior Web Developer with a creative eye and a marketing mindset. The successful candidate will be more than a programmer. This person knows how to blend client objectives with strategic web technologies to create aesthetically pleasing, performance-driven websites and has demonstrated experience doing so. We’re about creating solutions for clients that meet marketing objectives, and we’re seeking a leader who will embody this philosophy and have a drive and passion for KPIs and ROIs and not just 1’s and 0’s. We are in a high-growth phase, and we are looking for experienced, energetic individuals who want to grow with us.
The Senior Web Developer collaborates with the Director of Web and Creative as well as the Art Director and Account Managers to help plan and execute technical and aesthetic components of client web projects (new and existing sites). Candidates should have experience developing WordPress sites in particular, with knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript from conception through testing and deployment. The web developer will make routine and new updates and enhancements on a variety of client sites across multiple industries. Candidates should demonstrate a desire to stay abreast of emerging technologies and changing trends in web development. The ideal candidate will make recommendations based on those trends. Winning candidates will be those who have a passion for creating beautiful, functional work that achieves client goals while possessing the ability to work quickly and under deadlines.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate creative problem solving and creative thinking to integrate branding and achieve client goals for websitesAbility to creatively conceptualize digital solutions that translate into incredible user experiencesDevelop WordPress sites from concept to launch working collaboratively with cross-functional teamMake recommendations to optimize design and overall user experience and improve functionality of websitesMake site updates to existing client sites on the front end and back end including regular maintenance and updates to WordPress and pluginsIntegrate various APIs, Google Analytics, tracking pixels and more into websitesOwn various design and development tasks in the web development life cycle from start to finishQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Web Development or Computer ScienceAt least two years WordPress experience required (experience with Elementor a plus)At least three years of experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptProficiency in at least one server-side technology (MySQL, PHP, Apache, IIS)
